Systems Consultant

Description

Utilizing knowledge of multi-platform, enterprise level environments, the Systems Consultant-Storage Specialist (SC-SS) is responsible for driving Storage Sales within an assigned territory. The SC-SS working in conjunction with the SC and AE is responsible for owning the storage technical relationship within assigned accounts. The SC-SS provides pre-sales consultation regarding  industry-wide topics, including Dell storage products and capabilities. The SC-SS is also responsible for taking the customer's technical, financial and business requirements into consideration in order to recommend an optimal configuration utilizing the scope of Dell's capabilities for providing storage solutions. The SC-SS is chartered with identifying and closing Storage specific sales opportunities while also developing and maintaining a relationship with the customer's storage-related technical/IS staff and decision makers.

Qualifications

Exhibits a broad base knowledge of multiple or related industries as well as an acute business understanding. Leverages appropriate internal people and teams to support the selling and customer care processes in the enterprise/client space.  Articulates how Dell client products and services integrate with enterprise products and services.  Stays abreast of current industry trends and how Dell's customers are being impacted, and what that means for Dell.

• 7-10 years experience in PC, Server, Network  and Storage relatedtechnical sales environment.
• 7-10 years working in sales environment.
• 7-10 years field experience.
• Extensive presentation skills and experience.
• BA or BS degree.
• Network Operating System certification - Novell, Microsoft, IBM AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris.
• High degree of multi-platform network hardware and software knowledge.
• High degree of knowledge regarding telecommunications and WAN hardware.
• High degree of knowledge of Client/Server/Storage platforms.
• High degree of knowledge of enterprise management applications.
• 5-7 years PC, Server and Storage hardware experience 
• Fluency in English
